Chic comforts
Having only recently discovered the gorgeous Jamie Beck, of From me to you blog, I have been obsessed with her beautiful photography ever since. Not only is she a brilliant photographer but she is always impeccably dressed. Having scoured her outfit posts here I stumbled across this cute little video and wondered what it was that I loved about her outfit so much. Then I realised it was becasue she looked really well put together ~ stylish, chic ~ but essentially she looked comfortable. Her clothes weren’t getting in the way of her day {taking photos, running, throwing leaves} and that is something I am currently aiming for.
For me a skirt that sits on my waist and doesn’t restrict me from eating or riding my bike is a big Michael Winner. Next, a thin knit that keeps my body temperature at a comfortable level is essential. And lastly, due to a bad back and being in training for a half marathon, a flat lace up means that should I have left the house that morning and been on the go for 13 hours ~ my body might have been weary but feet would have been fine. 🙂 This is a very good outfit. I am extremely happy with it.
{orla kiely cardi and skirt, reworked polo shirt, tabio tights, vintage brogues}
In this outfit I rode a bike, went to work, cleaned the kitchen, hurdled, lunged, skipped and ran for a bus, did the splits and kayaked down the Thames*
