Paris…Je t’aime

Amidst the heat and shows, in the Jardin de Tuileries, along the boulevards and by the Seine I wandered and dreamt. I ate cheese, smoked le cigarettes and wore sequins, brocade and tulle…all whilst speaking  french {obviously not with my mouth full though!}

Paris, I do indeed adore you…

{chazzer shazzer black clutch, gifted vest, vintage skirt from nyc}

{m&s wedges and sunnies, vest and sunnies, vintage pencil skirt from hk, american apparel clutch}

{reworked denim waistcoat, american apparel vest, vintage brocade skirt, zoomp mules}

{vintage gifted kimono, h&m white top, top shop dress, gifted tulle skirt, vintage handbag}

{gifted army jacket, vintage dress and sunnies, kimchi belt and attachable bag, orla kiely clutch}

{vintage sequinned jacket, french bretton top, may leopard print skirt, m&s wedges, gifted premiere classe bag}

Inspiration

As I was saying yesterday {were you listening? I do hope so!} I have been looking at The Satorialist a lot recently for inspiration.  What with autumn on it’s way but ‘hey, it’s going to be hotter than Hawaii this week’ floating around the ether I am at a  loss with what to wear…Can I still get my toes out?  Do I need a jacket?  Where’s my factor 50?  All these questions are very important along with why is Made in Chelsea so unrealistic and what am I going to have for lunch today?

Sifting through the Satorialist’s beauties I spot this lassy and my mind starts whurring…

{via the satorialist}

{gifted military jacket and necklace, vintage dress from oz, ancient sandals from cyprus}

Like it did here it started with these heels and I can’t seem to get enough of them at the moment.  I love it when you can rediscover an item from the depths of your wardrobe.  I probably wear these about once a year but always know that they’re a good, useful heel.  This is there third outing in the last three weeks!

A small task for you all my darling Shoelets….Get into the deep, dark corners of your wardrobe and pull out something you haven’t worn in ages.  An old favourite that you thought you used to wear too much so shoved to the back of your closet, A summery piece that you have trouble with.  Work it, style it and wear it with pride – I bet you you’ll get tons of compliments….Spend a bit of time on thinking about what you’re going to wear and you’ll get something back from it…I promise.  Let me know how you get on over on our faceshizal page and let’s do lunch together sometime.

See ya…wouldn’t wanna be ya!!

PFW plans

Paris Fashion Week is heading my way fast and for those of you who know of my Red Shoes… adventures you’ll know that I do love a bit of Pareeee action. {Here} Over the weekend I devised outfits in my head, dug deep in my drawers for tulle, brocade and leather and laid out accessories that I could mix and match with an assortment of various vetements.

I’ve been checking out the fabulous Satorialist with his street styling shots and have been influenced by green military jackets as a cover up…

Love this cute look with the socks and wedges {Regardless of what others say!! See here}

Also I LOVE the idea of dressing down an evening skirt with a casual t and flat shoes….Mmmm…Tick…Defo on my list of outfits for Pareeeeee.

And if I had the money, and the status to be able to obtain them, I would be wearing these S/S 2012 Fendi yellow heels…Be still my beating heart…

Having said all of that I’ve looked at the weather forecast and we’re up to 27 degrees for the end of this week in French France!!??  WHAT?  I have ankle boots and long sleeved silk blouses in my outfit plan….Sweaty top lips and pits don’t feature within those plans!  Boooo…Rethink needed!!

That’s better

I didn’t start with the details  but they came to be a great part of my second outfit for LFW.  My ever faithful silver bangles collected from many a place around the world….

…my gifted bangle from San francisco, Sydney and Soho…

…my gorgoeus leather satchel birthday present from Mama D and Sister With Massive Laugh many moons ago…

…the best fake eyelashes you WILL EVER FIND!!!! Paperself fabulousness…

…my favourite leopard print heels, that look camouflague, and I was good to go…

{gifted velvet jacket, hobbs cardi, american apparell t, self-desgined dress, m&s slip, office leopard heels}

I think I stepped up my game in  the outfit stakes didn’t I? I fianlly had my photo taken by someone (they papped me when I was walking past so it could have been someone behind me for all I know but it doens’t matter!!) and had a lovely day meeting old faces from the past, selling the new fabulous Laura Lee jewellery collection and drinking champers…What more can a girl ask for?

…well a smile wouldn’t hurt would it!! Pppffff..anyone would think I’d swallowed a wasp!

Not good enough

{chazzer shazzer navy jacket, orla kiely yellow jacket and belt, gifted lace top, vintage levi’s from rokit, m&s wedges and sunnies, gifted wooden necklace}

The initial excitement of attending London fashion week wore off the moment I tried to open my eyes on Monday morning.  My exhausted body and my weary mind were having none of it.

‘Pull yourself together and get on with it’ my fashion head said to me. It didn’t matter that I’d been hanging out with Ryan Gosling all weekend!!!

I had to go and represent the little people. Those who can’t afford to buy the latest designer gear or spend half a months rent on a pair of shoes.  Those who still own shoes form the 90’s but still look samokkin hat!!!!

Unfortunately there are days when you’re just not up for dressing the biz and strutting your stuff.  My many Corona’s from the night before were highly evident in the pillows that represented my eyes and all I could manage was to grab what was nearest to me and what hadn’t spent the night on the floor.  I added trousers because I was riding le BMX and wanted to be comfy for the 9 hour day that lay ahead….

…then as I got there I walked past a camera and heard someone say

‘No…I’m just so over wedges…’

Nooooooooooo!!!

I looked down at my Marks and Sparks beauties and knew that I must try harder for tomorrow….Watch out world HERE I COMEEE!!!!!!!

Starting with…

…these badboys.

Like I posted here, sometimes I like to start with one particular item of clothing or an accessory and build my outfit around that.  In this case I had been watching an episode of SATC and saw Ms. Bradshaw in an outfit that had smililar shoes to these beauties I per-chased many, MANY moons ago.  I bought them out of the bottom of my wardrobe and knew I wanted to get my tootsies out for once last time this year.  I wore them to lunch on the Southbank last Sunday and then when fashion week rolled into town I popped them on for another outing.

{reworked denim waistcoat, reworked t, ginka skirt, heels from cyprus, diesal sunnies}

I decided to add an arm party as well – these beauties rocked out on my arm all day and got beaucoup de attention

Have you taken advantage of your 20% discount my lovelies?  It’s still here and only a week left for you to book.

Take a gander here and then head over here to book yourself in for a revamp of your exisiting closet!  YIPPPPEEE…Just in time to make room for all those new autumn/winter outfits…

Noo shoes

I used to be a bag girl, all mine hang on my wall facing my bed, then I guess I moved onto being a dress girl, they hang in my wardrobe…Ummm…as well as on my wall!!!  But I think deep down I am a shoe girl.  I LOVE a good shoe and am always on the look out for gorgeous, comfortable shoes that make my size 8 hooves look hot….

I love looking at street styling especially seeing as NYC fashion week has just finished and at the moment.  In most shots I keep looking south…

Whether they be flats, heels or shoeboots….I am into them!! I haven’t bought Noo shoes though since last November when I was in Oz!!!!  I NEED TO TREAT MYSELF!! Looking forward to seeing what’s out there….
