Reworking MY shirt
This is my blouse.
No I mean it. It’s MINE!!
This is the called the ‘Rea’ blouse and was designed for me by a friend of mine who works at Hobbs. I opened the post one morning and found this lush, teal, silk blouse gifted to me with a wee note from my generous buddy. How lush is that? Apparently we’d had sunday lunch together one weekend and I was wearing something that inspired him to design this with me in mind. It has been lovingly worn for many a year but has started to show signs of decay.(Washing machine…Ooopps!) Wanting to give it a new lease of life I decided to rework it by cutting the sleeves off, my new favourite shape.
I love how it’s a feminine, classy blouse but is now toughened up by losing the arms and letting it fray.
I teamed it with my new favourite skirt that cost a mere 16p!! Same shop in Hong Kong where I got this beauty.
{gifted hobbs ‘rea’ blouse and military jacket, vintage skirt from hk, m&s wedges}
The moral of this post is you should never give up on things….NEVER!! I love this blouse (and of course the sentiment behind it) but felt it was too prim and proper for me these days…it needed a new look and you know that if there’s a pair of scissors nearby….I’m there….snip snip..
